Music Guidelines

The Audio Library contains over 2 million tracks from every genre and style. This vast online repertoire will satisfy all of your basic musical needs without incurring extra costs for your projects.

The Music Services department has already pre-cleared (licensed) all of the music in the Audio Library for use in standard Red Bull productions and co-productions for almost all media in perpetuity.

Our state of the art built-in Music Cue Sheet Tool will automatically recognize inherent metadata of Audio Library tracks, which will help you create the mandatory documents with every video asset and save you a lot of time.

The exception to the use of pre-cleared music is theatrical rights (films that will be produced for cinema) and above-the-line advertising (commercials that are designed to advertise a particular product). Contact us - we can get you a favorable deal for these usages.

If you create an asset for a mobile app, an asset sold via VOD or on a DVD, or any other physical product, an additional mechanical license for the duplication of a composition needs to be in place with rights holders. However, we do have certain catalogs available that do not require mechanical licenses.

For music usage within content produced for:

• our channels but in cooperation with a brand partner;
• for both our and our partners channels; or
• used by the brand partner only - including Paid Media on all social platforms (boosting, sponsoring, etc.)

You can choose the scope of rights by clicking on the drop-down menu.

Only music that is pre-cleared for the above mentioned usages will appear and is available without an additional license fee or additional approval.

In general, if content we license to a brand partner requires unlimited exploitation rights, please contact the Music services team in advance.

Create a Music Cue Sheet

Always create Music Cue Sheets using the Red Bull Audio Library - even if you have not used any music from the Audio Library.

Upload EDL, XML to the MCS Tool or start with a blank cue sheet.

Edit your entries and add new cues manually if you have not used music from the Audio Library.

04

After creating your music cue sheet, don’t forget to hit the “Finalize” button to confirm it.
